President’s Welcome

Greetings,

It is my esteemed honor to welcome you to the official website of the New Jersey Garden City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As the 11th President of this phenomenal chapter of more than 100 dedicated, determined and dynamic women, I am excited we are continuing to provide programming and events that will only strengthen our community. We are A Chapter on One Accord, Walking in the Vision of the 22!

More than 106 years ago, our illustrious Founders chartered their vision that we continue to follow today with our National Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:

  2. Educational Development
  3. International Awareness and Involvement
  4. Physical and Mental Health
  5. Political Awareness and Involvement

As we celebrate our Pearl Anniversary, NJGCAC is proud to have made a positive impact on the South Jersey community. Your support of our chapter events allows us to provide effective programming to fit the needs of those where we live and work.

About New Jersey Garden City Alumnae

The New Jersey Garden City Alumnae Chapter (NJGCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, was chartered on April 30, 1989 at Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey under Dr. Yvonne Kennedy, 19th National President and Madeline Lawson, Director of the Eastern Region. With the chartering of this chapter, sixteen inactive sorors were reclaimed and nine active sorors transferred from other area chapters for a total of twenty- five financial sorors.
